My name is Jennifer Lopes-Silva and I am currently a senior at Har-Ber High School in Springdale Arkansas.

I am a citizen of Guinea-Bissau who through God’s grace has been educated here in the U.S. since the age of 11.  Ever since arriving in this country I have maintained a 4.0 GPA, taken four A.P. Exams, all of which I have passed and received college credit for.

I have been chosen as a member of the National Honor Society for two years, and was honored with The Springdale Chamber of Commerce Academic Achievement Award for two years.

Also, in the past two years I have been volunteering at the local arts center named Arts Center of the Ozarks.

After high school I plan on becoming a pediatrician and helping children in
Guinea-Bissau, and other Third-World Countries.

Since college is costly, this “Premio Djoca” would be beneficial to me and my family in paying college expenses.

Thank you for considering this application.  Along with this e-mail I have
attached the Springdale Chamber of Commerce Achievement Award I
received earlier this year, and my school's Certificate of Academic Exellence, which I received last year.

Thank you for everything,
Sincerely, Jennifer Lopes-Silva
